    New Delhi, 22nd January, 2012 – One Globe 2013: Uniting Knowledge Communities, a global collaborative initiative with a mission to create 21st century knowledge economy in India and South Asia, today released the list of distinguished speakers at the event. These dignitaries will deliberate and share perspective on achieving sustainable social and economic growth and development through discourse over innovation, technology, and skills development in education.

    Now in its second year, the conference will showcase a roster of more than 70 globally-respected speakers. Those confirmed to speak at the event include Mr. Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission; Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Minister of State, HRD; Mr. S. Ramadorai, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Skills Development; Dr. Karan Singh, President, Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) & Member of Rajya Sabha; Mr. NK Singh, Member of the Rajya Sabha & Member of the Standing Committee on Education and Board Member, Nalanda University; and Dr.  RK Pachauri, CEO-TERI and Nobel Prize recipient for IPCC (2007) among other global leaders from diverse fields.

In addition to the sessions, interactive workshops will also be conducted to provide in-depth learning.

    One Globe 2012 was attended by over 250 delegates and speakers from more than 20 countries including USA, UK, UAE, China, and Russia, besides India. Sharing his experiences from the last year’s conference, Jerry Hultin, President at Polytechnic Institute of New York University, highlighted, “Few forces are more powerful than education to improve the lives of young and old across India, and indeed around the world.     Last year, the event also featured government representatives, which included, Hon’ble Minister Kapil Sibal, Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister, Ron Somers, President, USIBC, respected business leaders from PwC, Max India Foundation, YES Bank, VSG Capital Advisors, EduComp Solutions Limited, representatives from an array of international universities including Columbia University, and Indian schools such as Delhi Public School and Vasant Valley School.
