Stephan Thieringer is co-founder of AcrossWorld Education, an international education company empowering institutions to harness the value of Open Content and Open Educational Resources.

A leader and visionary in the movement for ubiquitous information access, Thieringer is a member of the global advisory board of The Open Knowledge InitiativeT (O.K.I.) at MIT, an Executive Committee member of the Open Educational Resources in Cancer consortium (OERC), as well as a member of the U.S.-India Business Council's Executive Committee for Education. Mr. Thieringer also serves on the academic advisory board for Notehall India.

Thieringer is an active participant and a frequently invited guest at global education conferences and summits. He was invited to speak at INFOCOM 10-11 in Kolkata, OCWC Global 2010 in Hanoi, Vietnam, and was a panelist at the AMCHAM-India 2010 National Conference on Higher Education in Kolkata.

Stephan received his MBA from the University of Lucerne (Switzerland) and holds a honoris causa doctorate in education.
